In the last post we discussed text neck and how it causes neck pain and ruins our posture. This month, lets discuss 3 things you can do to make it more posture friendly using your phone.
First of all, stop slouching. Slouching brings about forward head posture. If you literally take two fingers and push back your head , you will have stopped your forward head posture. These head retraction exercises will train your head and neck to be in the right position. Your ear should be in line with your shoulders. Look in the mirror to achieve this.
Next, arch your back a little. Arch your neck and upper back backward, pulling your shoulders into alignment under your ears. This simple stretch can be very helpful for getting rid of stress and muscle pain.
Finally, bring your mobile phone up to your eyes. Don't drop your head down. I know it sounds easy. Raise your phone to your eye level.
