Are you a coffee drinker...Well here's what you've probably been waiting for. A study of about 1400 Italian men aged 65-84, showed that coffee consumption helped brain health.
Here are some of the highlights
- decreased risk of dementia
- boosts insulin sensitivity - helps fight against type II Diabetes
- Decreased Alzheimer disease
- slows brain "aging"myocardial infarction
Were there any negatives?
Those that increased their coffee consumption by a cup or more daily increased their chance for MCI (myocardial infarction).
Just a side note; I remember a doctor telling my Aunt to stop drinking coffee because of the caffeine - drink diet soda instead! Now if that's not the worst advice I've ever heard, I don't know what is.
